SWARM

SWARM

SWARM is a seemingly functional hydro pole appearing to emerge fully formed from the floor of an interior space. Closer inspection reveals an electrical transformer covered with an irrational infestation of natural materials and an audible hum that might double as either electrical white noise or the hum of a swarm of hybridized bees. Originally developed for Up Art at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, ON, it was re-installed as part of the Beyond/In Western New York biennial in Buffalo, NY.
