TERMINUS references the style of an archaic scaffold billboard that can still be found along the roadside in older industrial neighbourhoods. We were invited by the echo art fair to respond to the site of Canalside in Buffalo, the historical terminus of the Erie Canal which has been redeveloped into a mixed use greenspace adjacent to the downtown core. In response to the historical and geographical context we constructed a billboard depicting the Great Lakes as a negative space constructed by staple-bombing 25,000 staples over the remnants of hundreds of remaindered posters and event flyers.
